Lyrical Devotion 9.3.09

Have you ever found yourself in that place where God has called you to walk a path that you don’t want to walk and you are pretty certain will be difficult?  That journey where He says “Just follow me child, and I promise the other side is so much better”?  And when you find yourself there, how easy is it to ask for the help of our loving Father and know that He has a reason for this?

This is one of the songs from my upcoming concert.  It is a prayer…be with me Lord as I walk this path you have chosen for me and may I come out of it more like you.

Jesus draw me ever nearer

as I labor through the storm

You have called me to this passage

and I’ll follow though I’m worn

May this journey bring a blessing

May I rise on wings of faith

And at the end of my hearts testing

With your likeness let me wake

Jesus guide me through the tempest

Keep my spirit safe and sure

When the midnight meets the morning

Let me love you even more

May this journey bring a blessing

May I rise on wings of faith

And at the end of my hearts testing

With your likeness let me wake

Let the treasures of the trial

Form within me as I go

And at the end of this long passage

Let me leave them at your throne

May this journey bring a blessing

May I rise on wings of faith

And at the end of my hearts testing

With your likeness let me wait.
